Editor Position Summary:
The employing company is a cutting-edge platform delivering actionable intelligence and strategic analysis. As an Editor, you will operate at the nexus of journalism and policy, producing content that is both timely and timeless for a global audience.
Reports to: Senior Editor
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit a high volume of daily copy—including intelligence briefs, feature reports, and op-eds—for clarity, grammar, tone, and logical consistency.
- Verify the accuracy of factual claims, data points, and geographical references in close coordination with our researchers.
- Craft compelling headlines, decks, and pull quotes that capture the essence of complex reports for a specialist audience.
- Uphold and enforce the platform’s strict style guide, ensuring terminological precision, especially regarding military and intelligence terminology.
- Collaborate with the multimedia team to identify opportunities for supporting visual assets, such as maps, charts, or embedded video.
Required Qualifications:
- 4–6 years of experience as an editor in a newsroom, wire service, think-tank publication, or related field.
- Exceptional line-editing and copy-editing skills with a meticulous eye for detail.
- A solid understanding of international politics, defence policy, or cybersecurity issues.
- Ability to work efficiently under daily deadlines while maintaining an unwavering commitment to quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, International Affairs, or a related discipline.
