Executive Assistant Position Summary:
This role is the central nervous system for the Editor-in-Chief’s office. The ideal candidate is a master organiser, a discreet diplomat, and a proactive problem-solver who can anticipate needs and manage the complex logistics of running a global news operation.
The employing company is a rapidly growing organisation with a global footprint. The Office of the Editor-in-Chief coordinates across continents and time zones to manage a network of contributors and break news of international significance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive executive support: manage a complex, dynamic calendar; arrange high-stakes international travel; and screen communications with diplomats, officials, and confidential sources.
- Serve as a liaison between the Editor-in-Chief and senior staff, foreign correspondents, and external partners.
- Prepare briefing materials, meeting agendas, and summaries for editorial and strategic meetings.
- Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality, adhering to strict journalistic security protocols.
- Assist in coordinating editorial schedules and tracking the progress of high-priority investigative projects.
- Provide light translation and interpretation support between English, Arabic, and Romanian for correspondence and documents.
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience supporting C-level executives, preferably in a media, international NGO, or government environment.
- Full professional fluency in English, Arabic, and Romanian (both written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Impeccable organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a high-pressure, unpredictable news environment.
- Superior interpersonal skills and the poise to interact with high-level contacts globally.
- Proficiency with productivity suites (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office), project management software (Asana, Trello), and communication tools (Slack, Signal).
