About the Role
As Head Physician of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department (PEA), you will be responsible for the overall organization, medical operations, and care coordination within the department, reporting to the Territory Director. You will lead medical strategy development, ensure patient care pathway coordination, supervise medical and paramedical mission distribution, and participate actively in institutional life. Your role combines clinical activity (consultations, supervision, coordination), team management (physicians, interns), quality and safety initiatives, and involvement in research, training, and innovative projects. You will work with a multidisciplinary team across ambulatory structures (CMP, UPAA, mobile crisis teams, early care units) and hospital structures, including full-time units (UFADO: 6 beds + 2 places; USE: 10 beds + 2 places) and part-time day hospitals for children and adolescents.
Requirements
- Medical Degree (State Diploma – Doctor of Medicine)
- Specialization in Psychiatry or Child Psychiatry (DES or equivalent)
- Mandatory registration with the Medical Council (Ordre des Médecins)
- Proven experience in child psychiatry, ideally with coordination or management functions
- Knowledge and compliance with hygiene and safety regulations
- Proficiency with IT tools related to the position

About the Team
You will join a dynamic and compassionate multidisciplinary team dedicated to child and adolescent mental health. The team includes child psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, educators, teachers, speech therapists, psychomotor therapists, and other specialists – all united around a care project centered on the child and family. The department fosters diverse therapeutic approaches (psychodynamic, systemic, CBT), an open-minded spirit, and regular supervision and institutional reflection. Created in 1948, the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department is one of the pioneers in France, covering a large geographical area including Clermont-Ferrand, Riom, and surrounding municipalities.
