Role Overview

We are seeking a results-driven and strategically minded Senior Business Development Manager to lead and expand our client’s luxury fashion partnerships within the U.S. market. In this high-impact role, you will be the architect of growth, responsible for building and nurturing relationships with premium apparel brands, footwear and sneaker labels, luxury bag houses, and key marketplace sellers. You will drive the supply strategy for a multi-seller ecosystem, ensuring the platform remains the premier destination for authenticated luxury clothes, shoes, and bags.

Key Responsibilities

  • Luxury Fashion Brand Partnerships: Proactively identify, engage, and secure strategic partnerships with luxury brands and authorized sellers exclusively within the clothing, footwear/sneakers, and bags categories. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of high-potential sellers.

  • Inventory & Supply Strategy: Develop and execute a supply strategy to secure high-demand luxury inventory. Align sourcing efforts with marketplace data and consumer trends to optimize category performance and ensure a consistent flow of premium and exclusive products.

  • Market & Category Expansion: Analyze market trends to identify growth opportunities within the approved fashion categories. Drive the expansion of brand and seller coverage across the U.S., solidifying the platform’s market leadership in apparel, footwear, and bags.

  • Revenue Growth: Own and exceed GMV and revenue targets for your categories. Partner with sellers to optimize their presence, sell-through rates, and overall performance on the platform through data-backed insights and strategic guidance.

  • Negotiation & Contracts: Lead high-stakes commercial negotiations and structure scalable, long-term marketplace agreements that are mutually beneficial and drive sustainable growth.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the key liaison between our partners and internal teams (Marketing, Product, Operations, Logistics, Finance) to ensure seamless onboarding, execution, and a world-class experience for both sellers and buyers.

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and manage a team of business development professionals, providing strategic direction, performance coaching, and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

  • Data-Driven Strategy: Leverage platform data and market intelligence to optimize partnership performance, inform strategic decisions, and identify new opportunities for growth within the clothes, shoes, and bags categories.

What We’re Looking For (Requirements)

The Must-Haves:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven success in business development, partnerships, or category management within an e-commerce or resale marketplace environment.

  • Industry Focus: Direct, hands-on experience working with clothing/apparel, footwear/sneakers, and/or bags. A deep understanding of the luxury fashion supply chain and marketplace dynamics is essential.

  • Marketplace Expertise: A strong background in platform business models and a clear understanding of multi-seller ecosystems.

  • Network: An established network of senior-level contacts within luxury fashion brands, authorized distributors, or key sellers in the approved categories (clothes, shoes, bags).

  • Track Record: Demonstrated success in driving significant revenue growth, expanding categories, and forging high-impact partnerships.

  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. A strategic, data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into action.

  • Leadership: Proven experience managing, mentoring, and leading teams to success.

  • Passion: A genuine and deep passion for the luxury fashion industry, specifically within clothing, footwear, and bags.

  • Work Authorization: Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
